Hi, I am working on a compaq presario c740em. It was downgraded to XP, and no drivers were installed. I reinstalled vista and installed all 4 wireless drivers form the HP website, to no avail. The device manager says the Atheros driver is installed, but even when i restart the computer it doesnt show the wireless connection software. Any ideas?

There are four wireless drivers listed for Vista 32-bit...because there are 4 possible options that any customer could have chosen and had installed in the system, for that particular model.

If you have an Intel chipset...I would try the Intel driver first (after uninstalling the Atheros driver).

If not that one, then uninstall it and move to the next.

One has to work :).

If a driver is not the correct one...it's important to uninstall it before installing a different one, IMO.
