My friends computer, that I support had a problem where the homepage was set to Facebook and it couldn't be changed. Whatever URL was typed in to go to in the address bar didn't respond and always went to Facebook. A while ago this problem morphed to where he could only be on google and no matter what URL was typed it stayed on Google. After using MSE, RKILL, and Combofix it still was a problem so I rebuilt the computer at my house and took it back to his place where I worked fine. Now, a week later the problem is back. I give up. Could it be the router? He has other computers at home on the network using wireless and they are not having this issue - including 2 Dell laptops and 2 iPads and 2 iPhones. The desktop computer is a Dell that is using a wired LAN connection. It is Windows 7 with Office 2010. All is fully patched and up o date with MSE as the av program. The windows firewall is also on but defender is off because of MSE. Anyone with a similar issue that has successfully fixed this?

Since ComboFix has already been run during your efforts to resolve this issue my suggestion is to follow the steps here: Preparation Guide For Use Before Using Malware Removal Tools and Requesting Help Starting with step 6.

Post your new log in the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forum, not this one.

Please be patient and one of our volunteer Malware Removal Team members will assist you with your log.
