New motherboard and cpu for starters.
The two technologies (by computer standards) are light years apart.
I'd plan on a new power supply as well.

ty, i figured as much. I was already planning on a new power supply going to a 500W. I have been on newegg.com and have put together a wish list for a build. So far way cheaper than what I paid for this one. When I decide what I'm doing I'll be asking if everything will work together as it'll be my 1st build, I've upgraded many thing before but starting from scratch is almost scary.
