Can someone help a novice? I was visiting porn sites and then the "scene" changed to my desktop wallpaper minus the icons and start button. I could still hear the sounds from the internet site though.  I turned off my laptop and then turned it back on but after booting up and the desktop appearing normal, when I click the internet explorer icon, the icons and start button simply disappear. When I turned off and on again, after booting up, before I could click on anything, eveything disappears leaving only the wallpaper.  Right-clicking the mouse doesn't work at all.  Help!!!!

Hello -

EDIT - Please click on Follow this Topic at the top Right side first ........

Please try these 2 ideas first from Bleeping Computer Tutorials.

Once you select Safe Mode, is there any extra icons on your desktop ?

Can you add any icons while in Safe Mode to replace any of your missing ones ?

Now Reboot your computer and see if there are any changes -

Thank You -
