PC shuts down DURING antivirus scan?? DDS included as attachent

I have been trying to paste into this box but it never allows it, so I am attaching the DDS.txt and the attach.txt...

 

I have a laptop that was updated from Vista to win7/64 ultimate. 

 

 

I have been having assorted problems.  IE & Firefox keep freezing & say not responding after I wake the laptop up after being in sleep mode. That's annoying, but the bigger issue is that Symantec Endpoint keeps telling me the proactive threat protection is malfunctioning due to an internal configuration error.  If I reboot it says all os ok for a short period, then If I check again the error is back.

 

I was hit with a ransomware and a java exploit some months back.  I tried Malwarebytes with no luck.  The Sophos virus removal tool found and removed a few exploits, but the most puzzling thing is that when I try to run Spybot S&D from safe mode OR use any linux based rescue discs like Kaspersky10, AVG, Avira, etc they update fine, begin a scan and after they get about halfway through the scan the laptop just turns off instantly.  No BSOD, not a normal shutdown.  MUCH faster than if I did a hard power shutdown.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan again:

  • Download DDS by sUBs from the following link if you no longer have it available and save it to your destop.

    DDS.com Download Link
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explanation about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Hi,

this sounds like you have a heating problem or a bad hard drive, both of these can cause the PC to just turn itself off instantly. Does it get hot?
With regards to your issue with Symantec, could it be a corrupt install? Have you tried removing and reinstalling the AV?

For the heating problem I would recommend using speedfan to keep an eye on your temperatures and see what it says about your laptop: http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Don't modify anything with the program though, as this can lead to problems, just observe the temperatures on startup and under load and let me know what it says.
