AMD has this oddball chipset that I found one or two MB's that have it. I can't seem to find anything on those other than they are for a AM3+ socket which is current. It's the RX881 specifically.
Anyone know anything about them and why is info so elusive??

The specific board is here;

Thanks. I did a search using the above terms which is why I didn't find that. But, that doesn't really tell me what I was looking for. No comparison between that and the current 900 series without the highly technical stuff.

Bottom line, it is a oddball which I normally stay away from.

This is not what you requested.

Sorry if I wasn't specific. I'm not an engineer.

No reason to apologize.  I was only pointing out that all you requested was information on the RX881, there was no mention of a comparison.

If you provide me with a specific 900 series CPU I will find a comparison for you.

I now know is is some type of rebadged 760G which puts it out of the running. What was surprising is it is suppose to be a current model that apparently only this board has.

If you want some suggestions for other CPUs I would suggest opening a topic in the System Building and Upgrading forum.  The members there are up to date with what's available out there.

:oopsign: My brain took a left turn and missed that you were talking about the motherboard, too many sticks in the fire.  What I posted about the System Building and Upgrading still holds true though.
