Hello everyone.

First of all I'd like to say sorry for disturbing, but I do have an irregular question. I've been reading the support forums of Google, FireFox and Opera for hours, but they're just putting the auto-replies such as "Clear the caches & cookies, it'll be fine". For me, it isn't fine. The problem isn't like most of people are having, connection issues or something else similar. The problem I'm facing is that it exists on all browsers. I remember when it occured. I was browsing Facebook, closed it to read Dailymail, after a hour when I tried to login, the page just doesn't display properly.

  •

  • Cleared Cookies & caches with CCleaner

  • Tried Opera, FireFox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, all the latest versions.

  • Re-installed Firefox and Chrome, issue remains the same. Installed Opera for the first time, still the same issue.

Here's people complaining about the same problem : http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/kh63MEy3qyA[1-25-false]

I think that a screenshot says more than hundred words : http://i.imgur.com/LcHUcTr.png

Does anyone have any ideas to suggest. I'm tottaly sure that it's not up to the browser because I've tried 4 of them, all of them can't dispaly Facebook properly. I bet that it's on the Windows XP OS I'm having, I might have got auto-update which screwed it up although I doubt that?

One interesting thing I'd like to add is that when I'm visiting Facebook with a proxy, it appears just like it should. Also it's the only page that does so.

Thank you for the reply. I'll check out what does the MiniToolBox says although I doubt it helps as by it's description, it detects connectivity problems, but Facebook loads well on the other computer at LAN.

Here's the log that I recived :

:step1: Suspicious FF-proxy found:

Russian Federation Moscow Ojsc Vimpelcom

Do you recognize this proxy or set it yourself?

:step2: DNS has been set to 8.8.8.8 (Google). Did you set this?

The DNS server of Google has been set by myself, but about the suspicious proxy I have no idea. I have to look that up as I bet that's the issue as I can access Facebook properly with a proxy. Yet that still wouldn't explain the fact why I'm not getting proper access with all four browsers, includin' Opera which I installed the first time. I look and I haven't set the Russian proxy myself. Yet is it possible that your lookup shows a bit wrong because I'm living near Russian border, but I'd still say I'm rather away from Moscow?

Interesting, it can be my lockup didn't give the correct location. But it also strange, because many of this can be done by malware. Let's run some additional tests for malware, just to be sure:

:step1: Install and run MBAM

:step2:  Running TDSSKiller to obtain log

Note: Don't cure or delete a threat, but choose skip for all instead.

  • Please download TDSSKiller from here and save it to your Desktop
  • Doubleclick on TDSSKiller.exe to run the application, then click on Change parameters

tds2.jpg

  • In the Additional options: Check Detect TDLFS file system
  • Click Start Scan and allow the scan process to run

tds4-1.jpg

  • Choose for all threats to Skip for all of them.
  • Click Continue
  • Please post the TDSSKiller.[Version]_[Date]_[Time]_log.txt found in your root directory (typically c:\)

The scanning took actually pretty less time, I thought it'll scan for hours. It took a minute and the results were as I expected, no threats found. I took a look in the logs also, but there were only few lines of "Ok" which doesn't contain any valuable information. Such things can be done by malware and I doubt I stumbled upon a FUD one, but I think a malware would have a bit different affect than inproperly loaded Facebook page. I'm literally out of ideas. The issue can't be on browsers as I've tested 4 of them, cleaned caches, re-installed and done everything. The thing has to be something with the OS itself, but I haven't touched it recently.

It would be a shame if the end-solution would be re-installing the OS because we can't fiqure it out why doesn't Facebook load.

Could you please ellaborate how are hackers affecting the problem I'm having?

I've had some major progress with that, unfortunately downwards. I reinstalled the OS, but still in none of the browsers, Facebook just doesn't load properly except in Internet Explorer. I really am going to set this piece of **** in fire tomorrow. I installed the OS again, installed the browser and it just doesn't load. Well, f*ck you too facebook.
