Hello,

My antivirus program avast! deleted these exe after dealing with a virus.

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe

C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation\infocard.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_state.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\mscorsvw.exe
C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\WPF\WPFFontCache_v0400.exe

I am tiring to do all of my microsoft updates which I have alot to do. Specifically I have a lot of .net updates and I am concerned that without these exe doing these updates are going to bring problems. I can not restore these from avast! because I was advise to clear my virus chest. I am tiring to figure out if I can simply remove affected versions of .net and do a clean install of them without any complication.

Thanks

Sure but first ask yourself if you really need all those .NETs. I sure don't. I get along just fine with 2.0.

My computer came with nero 9 essentials which requires .net 3.0. I also have to remove nero 9 and install that again because avast! deleted files from the nero 9 folder to.

Responding to .X.

So Nero 9 will work perfectly fine on .net framework 3.5 sp1? Because that is the only version that was not affected.

Responding to sc3

A lot of that is going over my head but from what I understand I can set(if I am understanding correctly) Nero 9 to work on .net 3.5 SP1?

So I can remove all versions of .net and then do a clean install of .net 3.5 SP1 and then .net 4 Client Profile and Extended?

Yes but I think extended includes all the files in client profile. Not sure, don't use it.

Order doesn't matter IMO but this page list a couple of bugs that may crop up if you're on SP2. You're not on SP2 are you?

You can try what's on KB306160. Cant' hurt.

Would you mind if I post the log here there are a couple of warnings such as "Failed to open the service 'msftpsvc'"

that I want you to see. I removed 4 and 3.5 both said "product cleanup succeeded"

This is MY personal topic after I found that 30 ,NET Framework updates did not install.

The answer I have posted is directly from this post at M/soft Forums (I always go to the top)

If it was any other update that failed, I would have posted there :exclame: -

Regards -

I am not going to do the updates for now I will do them later, all I want to do for now is get nero 9 up and running which I also have to remove and reinstall again. nero 9 needs .net 3.0

"Since I ran the Tool as provided, my screen and all writing has gone "vague"."

Do you know why this happened I am curious?

Thanks again for helping me out!
