Computer has been freezing, blue-screening, running slow

Hello,

 

I'm new to this site, and this is my first post so hopefully I am posting in the right spot. If not, please re-direct.

 

My computer has been freezing, blue-screening, running slow for several weeks now.  I have malwarebytes pro and webroot secureanywhere complete running on my Windows Vista OS.

 

My dad sent me a list of Tools from bleepingcomputer to run, which he recently ran on all of his home computers, and said they all now work great.  I have downloaded and saved the following:


  • TDSSKiller

  • aswMBR

  • ESET online scanner

  • Malwarebytes (already have)

  • MiniToolBox

  • Service Scanner

  • ADW Cleaner

  • Junkware Removal Tool

  • RKill

  • AutoRuns

  • I was also going to run ComboFix


 

Can you answer these questions for me: :wizardball:

1. Which of the above need to be run in SAFE MODE?

2. Of those that do not, which should be run with my usual tools (webroot and malwarebytes) real time scanning disabled?

 

 

Also, is there a better anti-virus than WebRoot Secure Anywhere Complete?  Since I started having these issues, I sent two open tickets to them and they told me to run a scan, which I did (gave them the file) and 2x they said they did not see anything wrong. Yet, my computer was driving me NUTS!

 

Today, I ran SuperAnti-Spyware, which was also already on my computer, and sure-enough, it caught:

1. :radioactive: trojan.agent/gen-bancos

2. :radioactive: trace.known

 

NOt sure what these are, but I dont understand why WebRoot would not have caught these. 

 

Once I hear back from someone, I'll run the other tools above to see if anything else comes up.
