My friend just installed 512 MB of DRAM in his computer. Now he has an error message “A:/ is not accessible the system cannot read from the specific device.” But his System Properties say that his floppy is just fine. He says that his floppy drive works sometimes but not all the time. Anyone know what’s wrong or how to fix it?
If this helps any... I don't know what type of memory other than what is listed above and I think his computer is a Dell or Gateway.
Thank you!

Hi Corindia.
Tell your friend to go back in there and reseat the cable connections for the floppy. (both power and ide) Sounds like he just pulled something loose when adding memory. Also, if he physicly disconnected the floppy cable in order to get at the memory, he just may have reconnected the cable backwards. If the floppy drive light is on full time, that's what happened.

Nah. Since I've been married, I'm awfully used to being wrong. :flowers:
