Because of to many grandkids on my laptop it picked up something and I needed to run the restore disk. I was able to do that. Now I need to download the drivers so it will connect to the internet, both wireless and cabeled. I found the dell help site but I just don't know how to do the down load to my PC and then to the laptop. I borrowed a Western Digital external drive from a friend, but that's the total level of my knowledge. I live remote and have on one for support or help. I just don't know how to do it, and need kindergarden level instructions. Thanks.

Pardon me...but I believe that restoring to factory defaults...should have included any necessary drivers as part of that process.

What makes you think that the drivers were not installed?

Go Start/Run...type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.  Do you see any items with yellow or red markings?

Thanks Lewis...yes, there are 8 items marked yellow. It appears there is a yellow ? mark in front of each one.

I can not connect to the internet wireless or cabeled. That's why I think I need drivers.

Dell often provides plain OS installation media with their some models. I never saw HP , SONY or other OEM doing that.

Here is the official support page of Dell Latitude 820.

Downloading and installing drivers is straightforward except WiFI. Dell listed more than one wireless driver for this model. You may have to try them one by one.

Thanks, Anshad :).

Once the proper driver is installed for connectivity...you can then download/install the others by accessing the driver support webpage already mentioned above.
