Hello, I have to admit I'm quite the beginner towards help online sites. Sadly, my computer's warranty recently ran out, and it seems like my computer was waiting to give me problems right afterwards. I'm not sure if the problem is a virus nobody's found before, or if it's a hardware problem, but my computer will randomly begin to freeze every now and then (mainly when on the desktop or surfing the web. For some reason, it's never done it during a game yet). Sometimes, it corrects itself after around 2-20 seconds, and other times I have to do a hard turn-off of my computer by holding the power switch. I reinstalled my computer's operating system not long after the problems began, and it did not seem to affect the freezes, but I do not believe I did a perfect factory setting restore due to the fact that afterwards, some links on firefox were still a different color, as though I had already clicked the links despite the fact that my computer had just been restored.

Also, for some reason, after the hard shut-off of the computer, my computer's clock will be set back an hour about one-half of the time i've done it - quite a seemingly random occurance.

I run Windows 7, and an Asus g75V. I know that I'm supposed to give some additional information, but I'm not quite sure how to get it.

Thank you. :D

Hopefully this will help (you help me). As many complete novices in this industry, I have a feeling that they feel that the errors posted were as ominious as I found them when they run similiar scans. Hopefully they aren't too serious...

Anyways, once more, thanks.

Running: Advanced SystemCare Service 6
Running: AdvancedSystemCareAntivirus

Running: avast! Antivirus

Possibly corrupted/damaged by Advanced System Care...and conflicting, I would uninstall/reinstall, then update and scan system.

IMO, Indexing and Windows Search go hand in hand...a problem with one affects the other.  I don't use either so I cannot say with certitude...but that's my guess.

Nice system...if you remove ASC and read/follow through on the links I posted...I would expect improvement.

My guess is that the system freezes come about because of the software I previously mentioned...hard drive temps and CPU temps look good.

This install is 2 weeks old...what prompted it?

I deleted Advanced System Care Service 6 and Antivirus and reinstalled Avast and began scanned the computer. Avast found no viruses. Regarding the following links, I did a system file checker and it found nothing wrong. Regarding the Indexer, I have to admit that I am not sure precisely how to do that. I searched 'Index' in the search engine after clicking the Start button, clicked Indexing Options, clicked advanced, and then clicked Rebuild under troubleshooting to rebuild the index.

However, I haven't really seen any improvement, recently being forced to restart my computer due to freezing again. I reused the MiniToolBox using the options you listed before, and the listed error right before the freeze occurred (or even during it, perhaps), was:

Error: (07/28/2013 04:25:21 PM) (Source: WinMgmt) (User: )
Description: //./root/CIMV2SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 990x80041003

Regarding your final question, are you asking why I reinstalled my system? I had recently found a virus on my computer and the freezes had been occurring. I assumed it might've been some damage to the computer's system, so I reformatted my computer, and the problems have continued.

For indexxing...I would just disable it for the time being, http://www.pcmag.com/slideshow_viewer/0,3253,l=251694&a=251692&po=4,00.asp .

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2545227 , try the Fixit.  Unfortunately....this error has several theories/cures suggested, with malware being one of them.  I can't help you with this one, other than to suggest a trip to the Am I Infected Forum, creating a new topic in that forum.

Since we are grasping at straws...might as well run a diagnostic on the hard drive, to remove it from the list of possible causes.

http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=605&sid=57 , install Data Lifeguard for Windows, run the extended/long diagnostic test.

Thank you for your help. And the hard drive diagnostic sadly found nothing. Take care!
