What do you guys use??

Started this thread thinking it would be great to have one place to go find 2 things:

the best conversion programs that everyone recommends> and

best hosting sites you use?

Please post links.

I use imageshack but it is limited on file size and uploading audio. My audio file is 16MB i want to host so I can share this interview online.  I use imageshack for uploading small images but it will not upload large files or big mp3 or mp4 files, any recommendations for other hosting appreciate.  Meanwhile i am checking google, but i value opinions here more since i tend to go click crazy and download bad stuff ;)

I found Any Video Converter somewhere here.  It's free, and it's great.

Also Lord Spam Magnet posted this in another thread discussing conversion of CDs:

Conversion will depend on the format of the CD.
The most common:
VCD
SVCD
CVD

These will play on most standalone DVD players, and all computer CD/DVD ROM drives, with the appropriate software.
Converting VCD, and SVCD to DVD, involves basically the same techniques.

Here's a list of 17 conversion guides:
VCD and SVCD to DVD

Can someone recommend a site I can use to host larger files and mp3 and mp4 files?

Any other recommendations for conversion programs you enjoy using for converting you tube to wmv to mov, mov or avi, movie files to audio, editing music files and movie files, etc. you get the idea. I appreciate your input :)

thank youuuuuuuuuuu!

I use the Firefox extensiom "download helper", it will download and convert if you choose.

The one drawback to it is that you have to pay if you want to convert to MP3.

Another website that converts youtube video and audio is this link, you simply copy and paste the youtube video URL to this site, it converts the video or audio, and then you download the converted file to your computer.

TY. I don't use Firefox right now but that might be worth checking out.

I use Chrome exclusively (other than being forced to use IE7 at work). I did DL and install IE8 anyway cuz i'm kind of a rebel like that (I'll only go back if they make me and some remote portal or process that requires me to use IE7 LOL).

I admit I have so many issues with toolbars and extensions and getting the wrong ones OFF, that I am reluctant to use any of them.

So thank you, that one sounds simple and useful :)

freemore looks interesting saying: If you are a multimedia journalist, teacher/student, artist, designer or just an enthusiast fan, this package is the top choice to make everything easy. It also provides documentation solutions to handle PDF documents.

this sounds useful for people who don't know what to do with PDFs.  That would not be me...just sayin :)

the AllFree video options are also really comprehensive, looks awesome.

format factory, supports 62 languages...and repairs damaged video too :)
