I've been getting various BSOD's for the past few days now (attached).
(IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA.)
My system info:
90% of the time I start my pc (after having it switched off for several hours) and within 10 minutes of normal use I'll get a BSOD.
When the system restarts, it's completely fine. I can run games etc for several hours with no problems.
Things I've tried:
MemTest86 - Tried both sticks in both slots at the same time and individually. No errors after 12 hours.
Rolled back nVidia drivers using safe mode and Driver Sweeper to a "safe" version that a lot of gamers seem to prefer as it's most stable.
Set BIOS to XMP Profile for the RAM. Which moved the "safe" value of 1333mhz up the normal 1600mhz. (As advertised on the box. i.e this is the proper speed.)
Ran OCCT and FurMark. GPU seems completely fine. (And plays high-end games fine.)
Defragged both HDD's.
Ran chkdsk and sfc /scannow
Let Windows Error Check all drives.
Ran full scan of MalwareBytes, Spybot Search + Destroy and Windows Security Essentials.
Ran the Windows Repair Tool from the Window 7 disc.
Checked motherboard for blown/leaking capacitors.
Ran Windows Update. (Got everything except language packs.)
Ran CCleaner and let it clean up.
Changed the registry entry so that Windows now clears the page file on shut-down.
Checked msconfig and services.msc for stuff that shouldn't be there.
Things I haven't done:
Updated the BIOS. The mobo is on the standard/out of the box version from 2 years ago. I don't think this'll make much difference and people seem to think BIOS updates are risky. I hope to avoid this if possible.
Ran Driver Verifier properly. (I enabled it and restarted my PC but the system hung at the "Starting Windows"/Windows logo. I had to enter safe mode and reset/disable it.
The fact that the machine runs in safe mode just fine and after a reboot suggests some driver conflicts somewhere rather than a hardware fault.
My copy of Windows 8 arrives of Tuesday, I don't mind installing it but I thought I'd ask here before rushing into anything.
None of my components are over-clocked at all. My RAM runs at the default settings of 1.5v (as recommended on the box).
Any words of wisdom?
Thank you for your time.
