I currently use a ASUS laptop I purchased about three years ago. It has an Intel i5 core and nvidia geforce gts 360m graphics card along with 4GB of RAM. I run Windows 7. My issue......I'll be playing a game or watching a video when suddenly the computer will lock up and this horrible noise blasts through the speakers.

I have tried reinstalling the driver for the graphics card and tried replacing the RAM......issue still happens. Any comments about this will be greatly appreciated.

Not  sure what the noise might be but the shutdown might be caused by heat. Be sure your vents are clear and the fan is running. A 'cool pad' might be a good investment.
