Everytime I put a CD in the computer doesn't recognize it.

What can I do to fix this?

In case you need to know:
OS: Windows ME
CPU/Ram: 800/128
Manufacturer/Model: HP

Does the CD drive appear in the BIOS and the Device Manager? How many CD/DVD drves do you have and does this happen to all of them.

I have had this problem happen to me before. And I believe that if it is a recorded disc then the cd-rom drive just doesn't have the specifications to read the disc. Try using the disc in a rewriteable disc drive and it should work nicely.
