Configuring System on startup and Installing Updates on shutdown

Computer goes through a "Configuring System" on Startup and goes through a "Installing Updates" every time I stat and shut down.

This is not unusual behaviour on those occasions when you have installed updates, but it shouldn't happen every time you start up and shut down. This suggests that one (or more) updates have failed to install properly.


You can check if you have any failed updates, or any which are pending installation, by clicking 'Start / Control panel / Windows update'. The update panel will tell you if there is a problem with any of the updates and you can take it from there.
