Hi,

I became infected with the 'System Care Antivirus' via an email posing as a DHL 'sorry we missed you' notification. I have used .http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-system-care-antivirus.I put my computer in safe mode and downloaded rkill. the instructions ask me to be patient whilst it searches for malware and once it has done this, the black box will disappear. I have waited two hours and it has not budged. Has this option failed and do I need to do something else? the SCA is still on my computer, Jo

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Hey,

I tried to follow the steps. I gave up and my partner has had a go and believes the system care antivirus has been eradicated as not in the 'add/delete' programs list and CC cleaner and my Zone Alarm antivirus have not picked it up. How do I know for certain it is gone as I read before that people thought it had gone, only to find it was still on their computer months later. Im sorry I haven't added any logs, I don't know what they are. The only things I think you may be asking for are the 'dds' and the 'attach' files that were asked to be saved on desk top. do you want me to copy and paste them here?

Thanks,

Jo
