It is common, these things are not common to know and I have to digged around C:\windows to find interesting ones.

All of those can be run through the Run window, the following are shortcuts I use but may not necessarily be .exe's

Windows+r : this works as a shortcut to a short cut lol

Windows+e : my computer

Windows+d : desktop

appwiz.cpl : windows uninstaller

devmgmt.msc : device manager

diskmgmt.msc : disk manager

services.msc : services list

msconfig : startup programs or clean boot

dxdiag : graphics card specs and more

Like, the shortcuts Ijjy.  Is there any reason I wouldn't be able to use these on Vista?  It seems pretty much in line with what I am seeing here.

Nice :)  I'm a shortcut keyBd geek.  I don't use the mouse very often.

<win>d is one that I use many times daily.  I had to map the right-hand <win> key for that one, too lazy

I like the <win>b key as well.  That one put the active cursor at the first icon in the Sys Tray area.  My first icon is always the "up arrow" icon, displays hidden icons.

Another one I like to use is <win>u  "Utility Manager", for mouse control.  Sometimes I'll disable my right-hand numerical keys as they mainly are used for mouse control.

I think almost all of Windows keyboard shortcuts are ported over from previous OS releases so they should be the same in Vista.

I don't know much about about Win 8(.x) key shortcuts.  I did demo Win 8 for a little while at a local store and most of the ones I tested (from Win 7) were ported over into Win 8.

Almost all of them can be use from win xp. Because if there's big change, the people who use keyboard more than mouse will blame on it. Like when win 8 change its start button.

Thank you.

23shh55.jpg to the forum.  It is that, a lot of tips available here.

Another one that I use a lot is a quick way to launch the Windows Task Scheduler,

taskschd.msc

Another one that can be a fast way to check the Windows version (run command)

winver

For general system information, you can enter this (run command)

msinfo32

It's similar to the <win> Pause/Break key combination but provides more detailed information.

EDIT: reset.exe is not for restart. Restart is one switch of shutdown.exe Sorry for false info.

Thank you.
