Hi Chingy and welcome to the forum. Your teacher has a mess. I can concerned with this: C:\WINNT\TEMP\VP141E.EXE but that might have something to do with TreadMicro, they often has a file like that. As soon as you can get online, use one or more of these scans to check the item to be sure:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/flash/index_en.html
Let me know what you find, if it is Trend, the program won't let you delete it anyway.

Nowtothe problems, first there is a New.Net hijacker and it must be removed first. HJT can not remove it, you must use these instructions:
http://www.newdotnet.com/removal.html Follow the instructions and you will know when it works because these items: O10 - Hijacked Internet access by New.Net will be gone from the log.

These two links are emergency tools. If you still can't connect to the internet, use one of those and it should fix the broken connection. In a pinch you can download those tools to a floppy or CD and take them to the infected computer.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfix.html

Please complete the above instructions before you move on. I will try basic manual removal since you can't download if you can't get online.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Click on Start > Run > then type "cleanmgr" without the quotes and OK. Allow the program to run and remove what it finds.

Empty the recycle Bin and restart the computer, post a new HJT log so we can see how you did, give me your comments and questions. We may have more to do.

Thanks...pskelley
