Howdy, You nice Bleeping Folks,

I Just got a package from NewEgg which contained 1- iGb RAM 'stick' and 1 Refurbished Video

Card. Thought this would help my slow and poor rendition of PC games. (Don't play the hardcore stuff like

WOW etc)

The Video Card I ordered was the refurbished

EVGA 512-P1-N402-RX GeForce 6200 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI 2.1 Video Card

Sorry for the bold fonts, but my Notepad decided to do this after a bluescreen error today.

I was prepared for there not to be a disk in the package. Thought I could just go online and

some kind site would send me a  driver.

I first installed the 1G RAM and the Video Card, then stove up the old Dell. Nice picture but everything

except Task Manager is so much to left screenthat I can't even grab it to drag it to center screen, which is

what I did with the Task Mgr. Plus, there was a tray notification that new hardware was detected but clicking

on that did nothing.

So, all this prevented me from going to a site that could scan my PC and see what driver I needed for the

Video Card.

I visited  Evga and searched all over the site. Apparently they assist the folks who have purchased

products from them.

My next landing site was DriveZone.com. They have a pretty nice search feature but I just can't

match what they are showing with what little I know of this product that I bought.

Question: Can someone please direct me to a site on which I get or purchase a driver for the above

Card?

My Old Dell Demension 2400, to best of my digitally-challenged knowledge:

Windows XP, Home, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

Panda Cloud Free- antivirus

ACPI Uniprocessor PC

Intel Celeron 2.40 GHz

Intel 82801DB LPC

2Gb  RAM

74.4 GB Hard drive

video card Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
(subject to change, on way or the other)

 Sound Card,PCI//VEN_8086.....(?)

PDCAP_D0_SUPPORTED & PDCAP_D3_SUPPORTED

(wonder why that didn't come up in BOLD?)

THANKS GUYS AND GALS. YOU ARE MUCH APPRECIATED.
( I don't really understand the tags thing.  Maybe one of the moderators could fill that in for me?)

On Graphics Card tab, choose GeForce 6 Series Family and XP 32 bit.

Thanks so much for your timely reply. I am downloading the driver now. Took a look at the details of the Video Card.

Wow !(not the game :-) This Card should do wonders for my Zuma, Dynomite, Chuzzle and occasionaly Sims-type

games. Let you know how things are working after I switch back to new card and give it a go.

Howdy again,

I am still in the process of downloading the driver for the new EVGA video Card.

Have had delays due to slow download speed until my ISP graciously gives me my new

'allowance' of Data Usge. (May I go on record here saying that DATA CAP sucks?)

Also had to uninstall and reinstall download drivers. I found that with my slow connection

speed, the download wasn't going to happen for hours and hours without the help of the

download manager. (But then, its been hours anyway :-)

While said download is ongoing I am trying to locate driver for old Video Device

in order to uninstall that driver.

Two problems: 1) I don't know where the heck to look, and the SEARCH feature is no help.

2) I officially have not one but two Video Devices, it appears. The actual physical Card

that I can and have taken out of the case says stamped on its very self: INTEL 537 EPG.

ALSO there is another, I'm thinking, is the internal one I have been reading about.

It is listed in a scan I had done, I think, by Crucial.com when I was looking for RAM.

I will copy the Video section here for you:

-------------

So,are there 2 Video devices? : the one in the above scan and the  INTEL 537 EPG

that I have taken out and put back in because the new EVGA didn't work without the driver?

If so, where do I find the driver(s) for the one I am going to take out? And is it ok to leave the

internal one operative? could it be disabled?

On another PC I had a couple years ago, I was advised that it was optional to leave in the

old card, which was removable. I left it in and the new one seemed to function fine.

Also I had the software for the new one on a CD, installed that and never worried about the

driver for the old. However I have read on this site to do the uninstall of driver right along

with the physical card which I am ready to do, just not so able at this point.

I have gone on too much.

Hope this post is understandable. Trying to be clear with what I am trying to say even if I don't have

all the facts.

"My mind is made up; don't confuse me with the facts"

OR

"I know you believe you understand what you think I said. But what you fail to realize is that what I

said is not what I meant."
