When I open the network and sharing center I have an option to connect to a network. When I click it, nothing happens at all...I've tried to find a way to bring up connections but can't find any. Help please and thank you!

I use the internet everyday at my house because I auto connect but if I go anywhere else I can't bring it up to see connections. And I'm not sure what it is at my location ATM

but if I go anywhere else I can't bring it up to see connections.

Connect to a network means it's a manual option (or same as right-clicking wireless icon in system tray to view available wireless networks) to connect to a network infrastructure that is in range and available for free access.
