turn on my computer, and all I can get is a blue screen with this message:

STOP: c0000135 {Unable to locate component}  This application has failed to start because basehtrq32 was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

What is basehtrq32,  what do I need to reinstall the app?  where do I find whatever it is I need to reinstall?

Thanks!

I find no such file.

Which may mean that it is a malware item pointer reflected in your startups..which has been removed...hence the message.

You can use Startup Control Panel - http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml to take a look at your startup items and confirm/refute my theory.
