I have a VGA splitter cable which has one side that plugs into the back of the computer and 2 others that you plug in monitors. when you use it you see the same screen on both of them. is it posible with this cable to make it one giant screen?

No. Your video card has to support two monitors. A splitter simply sends the same signal in two directions.

Alot of new videocards have two video outs now. Like my ATI Radeon 9600 Pro.

If you do get a videocard like this go to your desktop, rightclick on an open space, click proprities and go to setting. There you can select the second monitor and put a check beside "Extend my desktop to this monitor". Now you will have one wide desktop. You can also move around the monitors (blue sqares) around to match your arrangement. So if the second monitor is on the left well you just move the number 2 monitor to the left of the 1st so when you move your mouse completely to the left it will "jump" into the next monitor.
