So I just fixed 2 computers using the latest verson of combo fix this evening. both systems had Windows 8 on it, They both ran very smoothly afterwards.

my question is did combofix get a windows 8 update, or did i just get lucky? on a side note i did rename the file, maybe that was why?

At this time ComboFix can only run on the following Windows versions:
• Windows XP (32-bit only)
• Windows Vista (32-bit/64-bit)
• Windows 7 (32-bit/64-bit)
There has been No word on any release for other operating systems that are Stable with this program.

You are taking un-needed "chances" by running on any other operating system -

sUBs incorporated a fail-safe to prevent ComboFix from running on Windows 8. It was recently removed and there have been several reports of unbootable computers after running CF on Windows 8 systems. He is investigating this issue now. I would advise all users not to run ComboFix on Windows 8 until sUBs officially gives the green light to do so. If you run CF on WIndows 8 before then, you do so at your own risk.

Ah, thanks for the tip, i did not know that.... guess i was lucky then, though i kept thinking that i remembered there was a failsafe, which was why i was confused on why it was able to open.

When CF is officially supported we will add it to the list of support versions in the Authorized guide.
