When I shut down my computer, a Task Host Windows program shows up briefly and then it shuts down. I don't know if this is a big deal but it's been happening a lot lately when I shut down. It says that Task Host Windows is doing something but I can't see it since it's only briefly. This is similar to my problem, http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/085b13da-6161-4a63-9f78-8dd437c3b37e/waiting-for-task-host-windows-in-windows-7-when-shutting-down

except that mine actually shuts down while theirs is frozen. There's a "hotfix" for this and I'm not sure if I should try it or not.

From what I see...it's likely that some program you have installed is continuing to run at shutdown, rather than being properly closed.

Since the system does shut down...I would not consider this a problem if it happened on my system...I would consider it a problem if either the shutdown time was exdessive or the system did not actually shutdown.

From what you say...the delay experienced is not the 6-second system delay relating to the hotfix, so I would not run the hotfix.

In any case, you might take a look at http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/717-shut-down-speed-up.html as possibly related data on shutdown problems.
