When I try to log onto the computer I get the following messages:

1) software excepti9on 0xc06d0007e occured in application at location 0x7c81eb33

2) ccProxy.exe application error

3) explorer.exe application error falied to initialize properly 0xc0000005

Then when the desktop does come up I get the following message:

Smax4PNP MFC application error

Once I click "ok" for all of them, I can log into Verizon online but I am unable to open both Norton antivirus and AOL instant messenger. I also cannot restore my computer back to a previous day. Each time I try the computer freezes and when I reboot it, I get a message telling me that it was unable to restore. Everything else works fine.

I was able to run Norton using the safe mode but it told me everything was fine. I also ran Spybot, McAfee Advert Stinger and Security Task Manager. Using Spybot, I was able to fix the three problems listed there and did a rescan which came up empty. McAfee didn't find anything but Security Task Manager found a problem file, twpR32.dll, which I quarantined.

Even though I took care of that problem, it keeps appearing when I run Security Task Manager and my computer still acts up. I don't know if the problems I am having with the computer is a result of this file or something else. I did run Hijack This and printed a log hoping someone would be able to tell me what is causing my problems and how to resolve them. Here is a copy of that file:

Hi bchgrl and Welcome to the Bleeping Computer!

Download haxfix.exe
and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on haxfix.exe to install haxfix. (standard installation path is c:\program Files\haxfix)
  • Checkmark "Create a desktop icon"
  • Click "Next"
  • When the installation is completed, make sure that the checkmark "Launch HaxFix" is placed
  • Click "Finish"
A red "dos window" (dos box) will open with options:
1. Make logfile
2. Run auto fix
3. Run manual fix
E. Exit Haxfix
  • Select option 1. Make logfile by typing 1 and then pressing Enter
  • Haxfix will start scanning the computer. When it is finished a logfile will open: haxlog.txt > (c:\haxfix.txt)
  • Copy the contents of that logfile and paste it into this thread.

Thank you for your assistance but I am unable to download haxfix. Each time I try, I receive a message telling me the setup files are corrupt and to obtain a new copy of the program. Is there something else I could do?

Option 2 autofix
  • Open this folder program files > haxfix and double click on fix.bat (or double click on fix.bat desktop icon)
  • Close all other open windows since this step requires a reboot
  • Select option 2. Run auto fix by typing 2 and then pressing Enter
If an infection is found, you'll get a message to close all other open windows.
  • Close all open windows except the red dos window from haxfix and then press Enter
  • The computer will reboot
  • After reboot a logfile will open > (c:\haxfix.txt)
  • Post the contents of that logfile along with a new HijackThis log.

I noticed that Norton Internet Security works again. That is great! Hopefully some of my bugs are gone. Thank you very much for the help you have given me already. I really appreciate this.

Allrighty, that appears to have tasken care of Haxdoor, lets go get this other nasty bug.

If I just so happen to forget, once we have cleaned the machine, please change all your passwords for everything you use and if you do any onlilne banking on the PC,you will want to get with your bank and change all those passwords and be sure no unusal activity is present.

Let me see a HijackThis Start Up log.

Open HijackThis and Click the "Open Misc Tools Section" tab.

Select Generate StartUpList log and make sure that both Boxes beside it are checked:

Put a check by:
List all minor sections(Full)
and
List Empty Sections(Complete)

It will produce a NotePad Page,I need you to copy the entire contents of that page to the next reply.

Have the PC Scanned here:
Panda Active Scan

You will need to be using Internet Explorer for the Scan to work

Save the Report it generates

Post back with the reports from HJT Startup log and Panda.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\gdiwxp.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\gdiw2k.sys

  • Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  • Select Delete on Reboot and Unregister .dll before Deleting
  • then Click on the All Files button.
  • Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).
If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

Restart in Safe Mode and Open HijackThis-> Click "Do a System Scan Only" and put a check by these but DO NOT hit the Fix Checked button yet

I submitted that folder and hope everything is there that you need. I have installed the two security programs you recommended and check to make sure my Antivirus, Firewall and Windows Update is working correctly. Thank you very much for your help. Even my family is noticing how much better the computer is working.
