Hi,

I want to set up a home wireless network specifically for use with a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet running Android. This network is to be set up in an apartment approximately 10 x 10 meters, on a city street with dozens of other WiFi networks operating. The tablet's spec. says it supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz.

Would installing a dual-band router (rather than an ordinary router) improve internet access? Specifically, I am looking to find the best way to see streaming video without interruption.

The router I am considering purchasing is the TP-Link TL-WDR4300 http://www.tp-link.com/il/products/details/?model=TL-WDR4300. Are there any other cost/effective models recommended?

Thanks!

Going to a dual band router means you certainly have more "options" (so to speak for connecting) and would minimize the odds of interference. Thus, it is likely it is a better choice if you do live in a location with a lot of WiFi networks.

Thanks!

In order for people to potentially offer "on point" suggestions, you many want to define what you consider as cost effective? In other words, what is your budget?

Is the tablet the only device you will be connecting?

Any other features you care about beside being dual band?
