Hello,

Info:

OS: WinXp Home
Hp dx2000 P4
Norton AntiVirus 2005 recently updated
Microsoft Defender recently updated
WinXp Firewall turned OFF

I have scanned and re-scanned my computer, thousand of times, deleted altnet an equal thousand times BUT-

It could not be removed from Registry Keys no matter how many times i clicked 'delete'.
I want to get rid of Altnet AND its affiliates spyware and other programs (AdClicker 1.0, Cydoor.TOPicks.a, PestTrap) for good.

I will be more than grateful if you can help, step by step, to delete Altnet because it is frustrating me  without mentioning that WinXp is loading dreadfully slowly. :flowers:
I can provide u with whatever information you need if necessary.
Thank you for your time. :trumpet:

Download and scan with Ewido Anti-Malware v3.5
Ewido Install and Scan Instructions

Download and scan with Ad-Aware SE Personal. Setup & Configure as shown here.

Download and scan with Spybot S&D 1.4. Setup & Configure as shown here.
[DO NOT choose the option to install TeaTimer]
Note: If you encounter any error messages while downloading the updates, manually download them from here.

Perform these online Virus scans:
[Watch the Address bar in IE. You may receive alerts that "This site might require the following ActiveX control...Click here to install...". Click on that alert and then Click Install ActiveX component.]
Trend Micro Housecall Scan
Panda ActiveScan [ActiveScan Panda does not remove adware/spyware but will autoclean for viruses & worms.]

I have tried with ad-aware, updated, still it cannot delete:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Altnet and its subkeys.
Any ideas?

You said you tried Ad-aware and were not successful but did you try the other programs and scans I recommended?

BTW Altnet is also listed in a2 squared's detection list database so you may want to try a-squared Web Malware Scanner.
[Watch the Address bar in IE. You may receive alerts that "This site might require the following ActiveX control...Click here to install...". Click on that alert and then Click Install ActiveX component]
1. Click "Scan Your PC".
2. You may receive an alert on the address bar that "This site might require the following ActiveX control...Click here to install...". Click on that alert and then Click Insall ActiveX component.
3. A new window will appearing asking "Do you want to install this software?""
4. Select "Install" to download the ActiveX controls.
5. Click the blue "Scan" botton on the right to begin.
