Logisys Computer ATX Mid Tower CS1202BK  $34.99
GeForce GT 640 2GB $94.99
ASRock H77M LGA 1155 Intel H77 ATX Intel Motherboard $69.99
G.Skill Ripjaws series 8GB (4x 2GB) DDR3 1600 MHz $73.99
Intel i5-3470 3.2 GHz $199.99

Total ~ $474

I already have a 430w PSU, 1TB Western Digital drive, and an optical drive from a previous computer.

I will be playing games on this but I'm not looking for maximum settings all the time, just medium settings and for it to play smooth. Like I said this is my first build so I'm not 100% that everything is good quality or works great with each other. Opinions appreciated thanks.

I will also get a copy of windows 7

Nice build for its price I believe. Haven't you considered getting an SSD dedicated to your OS? I think that is crucial when it comes to long term use because when your OS is installed in your HDD and it is starting to fill up, eventually it would slow down you PC. Getting a Samsung 840 Pro 128GB would definitely complete your set but it is just an option and would not really be necessary.

I've never had a computer like that so honestly it never occurred to me. I think I will do that.

The CPU will not be compatible with the motherboard as the board uses a LGA2011 socket.
