When trying to run "Add/Remove Programs" from the Control Panel, the following error comes up:

An exception occurred while trying to run:
"C:\windows\system32\shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL
"C:\windows\system32\appwiz.cpl", Add Remove Programs"

and then the app will not run.

Any ideas on how to fix?

You could try to run the System File Checker.

Please follow the steps in the BC guide - How to Use SFC.EXE to Repair System Files

Let us know if that worked. Good-luck.
