I no longer can get Internet Explorer 8.0 to open. I recently removed several viruses. On 6/13 Malware Bytes quarantined a “Trojan.0Access”. I have run Malware Bytes several additional times since but nothing else has been detected.

Also on 6/13 AVG quarantined a “Trojan horse Back Door. Generic17.QNM”.

Today my attempt to open Internet Explorer resulted in message #1. Message #2 also came up concerning Site Advisor. I do not know if the problem with Site Advisor is related to the problem with Internet Explorer. Neither of these messages were sent to Micorosoft.

My computer uses Windows XP Professional.

What can I do to get Internet Explorer to open?

Message # 1.    Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close.
        The error report
        AppName: iexplore.exe     AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702     ModName: iebho.dll
        ModVer: 3.0.0.3206     Offset: 00075000

The error report contents could not be copied but this file was included with the error report
            C:\DOCUME~1\DEANH~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\6018_appcompat.txt
This file is 8 pages long in the Portrait 8.5 x 11 size, therefore it was not included. If this              file would be helpful, please just ask and I can send it.

Message # 2.    SiteAdvisor has encountered a problem and needs to close.

I wish to say than you in advance for your assistance!!!!

ZeroAccess rootkit requires elevated help.

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
