I was recently infected with the FBI virus I went through your tutorial to remove with the hitman pro and it worked but after a day or so it came back! The hitman pro has never really worked the way it was supposed to in your guide it says that after you boot from the flash drive hitman will come up after 20 seconds it never did! I shut down the computer restarted and it came back normally so I ran my personal virus scan as well as the hitman and it removed at least 40 viruses and worked fine started up fine but now it came back! I'm self taught in virus removal and just need help!!!

Welcome aboard p22002758.gif

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

I understand that you have a protocol but downloading on the infected computer is impossible as the virus pops up immediately

Hello, Delian78.
My name is etavares and I will be helping you with this log.

Here are some guidelines to ensure we are able to get your machine back under your control.

  • Please do not run any unsupervised scans, fixes, etc.  We can work against each other and end up in a worse place.
  • Please subscribe to this topic if you have not already done so.  Please check back just in case, as the email system can fail at times.
  • Just because your machine is running better does not mean it is completely cleaned.  Please wait for the 'all clear' from me to say when we are done.
  • Please reply within 3 days to be fair to other people asking for help.
  • When in doubt, please stop and ask first.  There's no harm in asking questions!
  •

    Step 1

What version of Windows do you have?  The version dictates the approach we must follow to regain control.

OK, not the ideal answer but one we can work with.  :)  Do you have a blank USB flash drive we can use?  We'll have to boot up outside of Windows using that flash drive to disable the lock screen.

I did that through hitman pro I made a bootable drive my problem occurred after the program booted up but then hitman never showed up again to run the virus scan! To be honest I looked this virus up on several sites one suggestion was to go go back to an earlier date in the computer and then I ran malwarebytes virus can and that actually seemed to removed the virus ctfmon

Your initial post said it came back?  So your computer is no longer locked?  Do you want me to take a look to ensure you got all of it or are you OK now?

It had come back but I reset it back to an earlier date and ran malwarebytes that seemed to nip it ! This was the third time I've tried removing it so I'm kind of just waiting to see if it does come back. I was curious why the Hitman pro didn't work though it actually didn't work right from the get go. Thanks for your help I think for now we are ok you can consider this topic closed and if I do have another issue I will be back! I love this site it taught me a lot! No more paying for some guy to fix it I can do it! :) thanks again!!
