i have win 98 se....so i noticed that i had unspy pc scanner and monitor on my desktop, so i downloaded a program to get rid of it. well when my computer booted up it asked if i should run it in like 6 different modes, so i picked safe mode. then it says " cannont find a devic file that maybe needed to run windows or a windows application. the windows reigstry or system.ini files refers to this device file but the deice file no longer existst. if you deleted this file on purpose, try uninstalling the associated application using its unistall or set up program. if you still want to use the application associated with this device file try reinstalling that application to replace the missing file. c:/windows/system/wmm32/ifsmgr.vxv press any key to continue"

after pressing any key for like 5 times, the screen that says "it is now safe to turn off your computer" pops up.

what the heck is going on??? please please please someone help me so i dont have to restore the whole computer!!!!!

Hi foxie4,

You have a malware. UnSpy is a rogue antispyware application. It is on Spyware Warriors list for Rogue/Suspect Anti-Spyware Products. Link Please follow the instructions in this post: Start Here

Good luck foxie4. If you have any questions, just ask.

Also to get rid of those messages at your system start up you can use Registry Mechanic or some other Registry software to correct registry errors it worked for me all the time in windows 98. But I now have windows xp.
