I couldn't find another post topic that seemed related to my problem... and I didn't want to sift through 36 pages of audio/video problems to find it (am I supposed to/is there an easier way? i'm new...)

anyway, my problem is that even with headphones plugged in, sound still comes out through my speakers. I have a compaq presario notebook... it's a problem I haven't had before, but with ANY headphones I plug in, I'm still hearing it out of my speakers instead. I fooled around with my audio settings, trying to fix the problem, but nothing is working and it's rather frustrating... any ideas?

Are your head phones fully emgaged? When you insert the connector for the head phones it should physically seperate a connection disrupting the speakers.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
