Win 7 64 bit.  All updates applied.

Had occasion to check whether a program was set correctly in my McAfee Firewall.  Firewall was shown as running, but when I checked further, the Firewall was starting and then immediately deactivating.  On checking the Windows Firewall it reported the wrong settings were being used and then reported Error n0x80070424.  I ran Spybot and cleaned up what it found.  Also removed and reinstalled McAfee, but problem persists.

Been doing a bit of research on here since my post this morning.  Ran RKill and it reports

* ALERT: ZEROACCESS rootkit symptoms found!

     * HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{5839FCA9-774D-42A1-ACDA-D6A79037F57F}\InprocServer32 [ZA Reg Hijack]

Does not look like an easy job to get rid of this, so will definitely need to help of the experts

 on here.

I will start new post in approp forum with DDS logs.

Thanks in advance.

Andrew
