I'm confounded!

I updated my Vista Ultimate system (AMD Phenom 9350e Quad-Core 2Ghz, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit)

to SP1, and explorer.exe started crashing. Using task manager, I managed to download and install SP2, thinking it would solve the issue, but I'm having the same problem. As soon as Windows loads, I get this error:

  Problem Event Name:    APPCRASH
  Application Name:    explorer.exe
  Application Version:    6.0.6002.18005
  Application Timestamp:    49e02a1e
  Fault Module Name:    StackHash_5e13
  Fault Module Version:    6.0.6002.18005
  Fault Module Timestamp:    49e0421d
  Exception Code:    c0000374
  Exception Offset:    00000000000aef37
  OS Version:    6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1
  Locale ID:    1033
  Additional Information 1:    5e13
  Additional Information 2:    2cadc11db860f17b4014f08b36377c10
  Additional Information 3:    45d5
  Additional Information 4:    ede2e8d79c56e9a16e70e313b8510025

I can let explorer close, then access task manager, so I'm still able to work with the system. I just haven't been able to find an actual fix anywhere online. I've done a lot of Google searches and come up with nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm going to post this same problem in the malware section, as some of my research has pointed to the potential for trojans or other hard-to-spot issues.
