I've got a printer that is printing pages before the OS loads.  For example, I went into the BIOS and checked the settings.  After exiting the BIOS the printer began printing 4 pages with 8 instances of the main screen of the BIOS followed by about 13 blank pages.  Just turning the computer on it will print the OS options loading screen or the startup options screen.

I've uninstalled the printer/driver.   I've got two HP Laserjet 1100's so I swaped out one for the other and the problem still occurs.

Hardware:

Desktop:  HP Pavilion A1210N, Windows XP Pro

Printer: HP Laserjet 1100

Suggestions?  Ideas?

HI, It isn't a printer problem or a driver problem. The Driver does not load until windows loads.

One possible culprit is the Print Screen key

PrtScr

being stuck down or acting as if i were depressed.

Do You have another keyboard to test with?

Roger

Edit: It appears that You are hooked up with a parallel port which is where the PrtScr will send what is on the screen too.

Glad to hear that was the problem. That makes it an easy fix.

Cheers

Roger
