When I am using IE9 on a web site that has a link to a document that uses java it won't open. I have to use Google Chrome to go the web site to click on the link that starts java and then I can view the page. Without getting into why I should be using Chrome to begin with, why won't IE9 open the link and let me view the page?

I've tried shutting off my McAfee and opening it but with no luck. Something else on my computer is blocking it.

Have you tried enabling compatibility view? Open IE9 < click on tools tab > click on compatibility view settings.

Then go here to see if it is detected:   http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp

Regards............

Thank you, thank you. I followed the link to Java and it said that while I had Java I needed an update to open that type of page. The update was downloaded and the page opened. Thanks again.
