Hello,
A problem on a laptop ACER I5, error = media test failure, check cable. I downloaded the "Ultimate BootCD" tool to achieve diagnotic, do you have a repair utility windows that load with a CD ISO image in order to restart the computer and run the repair. thank you
cordially

Computer crashes before loading windows, access bios

If the diagnosis does not give an error, I would be able to repair windows from an ISO file, because no access to safe mode.

thank you
cordially

Hi

Looks like your hard disk is not detected. Please enter in to BIOS setup and verify if the HDD is detected or not. You can enter in to the BIOS setup by pressing F2 during powering on.

Here is an example BIOS screen . If the HDD is none, it is not detected.

Hello,
The disk is detected as the BIOS identifies the ram is good in testing, I'm afraid you must reformat the hard disk low level, the problem occurred when my son wanted to change the screen resolution.
I inserted a CD picture windows and the system load, then black screen and I see that the cursor smiled and nothing else.

Even restarting in Network Boot, it happens the same way.

Hello, finally resolved, but after 15 hours, I'll try to explain:
Low level format and redo the partitions using a soft diagnostic that allows access to the bios.
Installing windows size plant using the backup (it is very long, 6 hours).
Reconfiguration windows and reinstalling drivers.
All procedures are performed is from picture formatting is therefore important file.
So, after a good couple of hours, I continue to make the Windows updates, so for those who achieves the same manipulations be patient.

Sincerely,

Hi

It is good to know that the issue is resolved. It will be wise to test the hard drive and make sure it is in good condition. You can download the appropriate testing tool from the HDD manufacturer's website.

Hello, Thank you, for against it remains a concern, my son did not save these drivers, the laptop works as a desktop computer, and on the official website ACER must pay for the assets. But if I can not have them I would install a windows 8.
