usb port not working

One of the usb ports in my dell laptop is not working. It gives power(optical mouse lits up on connection). Please help.

You will have to get it repaired. There's nothing anyone can do about it on a forum.

Hi rajeesh xl,

You can update the latest BIOS and the chipset drivers and check if the port works.The BIOS and Chipset drivers can be downloaded from the following link by punching in the Service Tag and by clicking on the "Drivers & Downloads" tab:

You can run a hardware diagnostics by following the steps provided in the link below:

The motherboard may have to be replaced if the test fails.
