Windows Update error

Hi All


I have a Windows 7 computer, and when I try to go to windows update, this is what I get:




I have tried to search online for this but none of the solutions provide any info.

Try using the System Update Readiness tool.


Have you tried updating from the Microsoft Download Center?

Based on info from Microsoft, this can result from a virus/rootkit infection, based on the error code you received when the update failed:



On the other hand, it can also be caused by damaged system files, and the fix is a bit complicated:
