Windows 98

No matter what program I use, I cant change the font. I have a lot on my computer, but when I click on the thing to bring down the font list to make a different choice - it freezes my computer every time. Maybe there is one font causing the problem or something ?? I have no clue. If anybody could help, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
