I personally love stand up comedy.

My top 5 favorite comedians would have to be Rodney Carrington, Daniel Tosh, Greg Giraldo, Richard Pryor, and Mitch Hedberg.

Others I mainly enjoy are Jeff Ross, Lisa Lampanelli, Brian Regan, Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart, Patrice Oneal, Dave Chapelle, Gabriel Iglesias, Anthony Jeselnik... The list goes on from here. The comedy central roasts are absolutely hilarious to watch. I'll watch just about anyone if they are funny.

EDIT: Almost forgot Robin Williams!

So, what comedians do you guys enjoy watching? Who would make your top 5 list?

I am very old now and I don't like the modern stand up comedians. The best stand up comedian I ever saw was Woody Allen. Go onto youtube and put in Woody Allen

" the Moose". I have seen it many times and it still leaves me helpless with laughter and without any smut at all.

Bill Cosby & Sinbad are pretty funny, Mark Lowry not so much in my opinion. :P I'd definitely pick Bill Cosby out of those three though.

You just have to find the good ones. I'm sure the selection of comedians seems bigger today since the internet can help just about anyone get noticed with a few jokes. Plus, it seems like Comedy Central Presents will present just about anyone now.....

Are there really any good stand up comedians out there?  If they have to resort to swearing or sexual references, then they aren't any good.

You apparently haven't heard any good modern comedians.

Amen to that. He was more than a Stand-up Comedian. A Sage, Philosopher, and dare one say, a Prophet?

To err is Human. To blame it on someone else is even more Human.

I like Amy Schumer: She's sexy and spunky. Her last two appearances on the Comedy Central roasts were great, too.

She was pretty damn funny on the roasts. Not quite Lisa Lumpybelly though!
