I've been using SuperAntiSpyware for awhile now and I have to say that it seems like it's been slowing down my computer quite a bit lately. It seems to use a hell of a lot more memory than Malwarebytes and Nod32. Always jumping around 50-100k even when it's just runnig in the background, is this normal for this software? If it is, I might just consider sticking with only Malwarebytes and Nod32. <_<

Hi Slim -

Do you run the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Pro version, or the Free version, same with SUPERAntiSpyware ??

There has been some recent problems trying to run both Pro versions, but no problems with the free versions together.

Thanks -

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is Pro but not SUPERAntiSpyware.

If you have the Free version of SUPERAntiSpyware installed, it is never "running in the background".

It is just an On-call scanner / clean up tool, like many other tools (I run the same setup).

Running ESET Nod32 and Malwarebytes Pro together should be the 2 programs that are using memory.

It says mine is trial, it is always in my notification bar. It boots up at startup.

OK, that changes it -

That means that you are trying to run both MBAM and SAS as Active Scanners.

I would (personally) remove SAS and reinstall it, without accepting the Trial Offer, so that it is just a scanning tool, or check the settings to cancel the activation.

There was a major update from SUPERAntiSpyware (SAS) a while back and this trial offer was added.

Download Products and "Trial Versions" SUPERAntiSpyware << The Red link shown is the regular Free Version. The Green link shown is the new Trial Version.

http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWARE << Trial version
http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE << Free version

Some people did not notice the extra bit, and made it active, if the settings were adjusted.
They (SUPERAntiSpyware) are trying to use the Malwarebytes type "Free Active Trial Version" that has existed for quite a while.

If you get a "Splash Screen" at start up, this can be disabled if you wish, and I just have a screen icon now.

Hope that this makes sense to you -

it is always in my notification bar. It boots up at startup.

If you right-click on the tray icon, select View Control Center (Preferences/Options)... to open Scanning and Program Preferences Start-Up Options, there is an option to Uncheck "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts."

It makes perfect sense Noknojon. Thank you very much, I am going to switch to the free version right now.

I believe the free version installs with automatic startup so be sure to go to preferences and double-ckeck...and Uncheck "Start SUPERAntiSpyware when Windows starts" if it is checked.

I've been using SAS as a stand-alone scanner for a long time and usually just reinstall over the existing version on all of our home computers. Sometimes it remembers my settings and sometimes it doesn't.
