I run xp pro, on dell dimension 3000, mse with mbam, fully updated with microsoft updates.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/windows/page/2/

SecurityCheck, says unsupported system, scan aborted.

I downloaded this to my desktop before I ran the check, the first time, I went back to the download page to make sure that my system was supported, it is, so I downloaded it a second time and still get that error message.

Does anyone know why this is?

BTW, was not sure if this is the proper forum. thanks.

Hello -

I have this program on 2 computers at this time (XP and Windows 7), both were downloaded from here.

The program is not VeriSigned, as are many other Malware detection tools.

However they are 100% safe.

Download Security Check by Screen317 from Here
* Save it to your Desktop.
* Double-click SecurityCheck.exe
* Follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
* A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.
Note: If a security program requests permission to access the Internet, allow it to do so.

Thank You -

(could not seem to edit my last post, could not get the cursor to be in the box.)

As far as I know I do not have windows defender installed.

the command prompt box had a couple of files that were not recognized at the beginning, but they were not printed in the notepad report and it went too fast for me to catch them.

thanks.

Edit: (can edit now, :)  )

the two files were HKLMRUN.txt not found and

MSEx64.bat is not an internal command or batch.

no, I am not having any problems, I was just wondering why I could not download the app Security Check, but I was finally able to download it from the link you gave, even if it was the same page, so it must have been a server issue or something.

appreciate your response, thanks, would like to mark your post as the answer, but do not see where to do that. :)

Thank you for that, but the site has no "Best Answer" type of system, and we do not close topics, as others may add to them.

We are just happy to have helped you - Please call back -

Best Regards -

Hi again -

If you still have this topic on watch please read this extra bit.

Your Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is well out dated, please open the program and click on the Update Tab, then Check for updates.

The current version is 1.75 and yours is only 1.70. (several months outdated).

Also click Start > Programs > Windows Updates, and make sure you have all Windows Updates installed -

Your Secunia PSI may be RED in your tray if you have an icon - Open Secunia to see if any other programs need updates.

Thank You -
