Let me try to be as thorough as I can to have you guys help me determine the nature of my problem.

My computer recently crapped out completely.  The Power Supply went out and took the motherboard and processor with it.  I replaced those components plus upgraded from a HDD to a SSD.  I am currently using the same RAM and GPU from the old build.  With that, my current build is:

Foxconn A75A Motherboard

AMD A6-3650 Processor

Kingston DDR3 1066 MHz RAM (3 x 2 Gb chips)

OCZ Vector SSD (128 Gb)

nVidia Geforce GTX 285

Cooler Master 550W PSU

Since day one of this build the computer would restart on me randomly when I was running any games.  I chalked this up to the system not wanting to work with those games, as the specs are kind of low (it was a low budget emergency rebuild).  After a few days it started randomly restarting even when the system was idle at the desktop.

I ran Prime95 Burn-in Test (CPU intensive) for 6 hours without any crash.  I ran Memtest86+ on each of the RAM chips individually as well as in different combinations of slot orders for 5 passes (2 hours per test).  Furthermore, I've ran Prime95 Hybrid test (RAM intensive) for 6 hours without any crash.  I've removed the GPU I was using and swapped on onboard GPU with no effect on the system performance.  I've even calculated the PSU load to be 195W out of the 550W output, therefore it shouldn't be a power issue.

In the mean time, I've updated all of the drivers, DirectX, Java (some of the software I use is Java intensive), BIOS, and completely wiped the SSD and reinstalled Windows 7 64-bit.  Inside Windows I've disabled the feature to automatically restart on BSOD.  The system still restarts with no BSOD.  Furthermore, there are NO events in the Event Log, aside from the "Windows was shut down improperly" generic entry.

I'm at my wits end here and out of ideas on how to proceed.

What media did you use...to do your clean install on the SSD?

Did you use recovery disks to reinstall?

I formatted the SSD with the built in Disk Utility in the Windows 7 Installation. I installed fresh from the ground up using a Windows 7 Ultimate Edition DVD.  The initial driver install was from the CD's I received with the hardware, but were updated as soon as I had internet access again.

Also of note is that some days it restarts twice a day and others it restarts twice an hour...

I don't really see anything that my brain can translate into "a problem"...but I would remove the Patriot stick of RAM.  It's slower than the other two moduels and just might result in RAM compatibility problems resulting in random crashes.

Motherboard spec:  Dual channel DDR3 1866/1600/1333 x 4 DIMMs, Max. 64GB, which means PC3-10600 is the lowest recommended.

Your Patriot module:  Max Bandwidth: PC3-8500F (533 MHz).

Your EV errors look pretty routine to me, no clues there that I can see.

Thanks... I was actually looking at replacing the RAM modules completely anyway... I was looking at getting a DDR3 1600 8Gb RAM chip...

Well...before I did that...I would just remove the Patriot module and run the system without if for a bit.

If your previous problems disappear...that would as close to conclusive as I would want to be...if problems resurface, then it's another wrong guess by me (and I have plenty of those in my storeroom) :).

My main question is this:  Since the problem seems to be highly intermittent, how can I accurately test if the removal of the Patriot RAM module fixes the problem?

Well...personally, I don't have "intermittent" system issues...there either is a problem or there isn't a problem.  Alll of my system problems have been of the consistent nuisance type...which called for attention on my part.  In my world, it if happens twice, it's a consistent problem.

If there is a problem and it relates to hardware...I substitute parts or remove components.  As I said, if the problem dissppears with the removal or substitutionn, the conclusion is obvious.

Ok so my girlfriend got me a late Christmas present:

New RAM and a new GPU

Because the GPU required a MINIMUM of 550W, which is what I had previously, I bought a 750W PSU.

http://speccy.piriform.com/results/0XFtAte5Olz23RlfOMbpCyC

Despite this, the random restarts are continuing. Friday and Saturday it ran just fine without any crashes, then it shut down 4 times yesterday, and 3 already today.  I'm looking at doing a fresh reinstall of Windows after I get home from work, but I'm not sure if that'll fix the problem or not. Before I start the reinstall I'll check back here to see if anyone tells me that it would just be a waste of my time or if they think it may help.

looks like RAM incompatibility to me.   use speccy or SIW after you take out the RAM that you added and get as many specs as you can. on the original RAM and go shopping with your  RAM specs fresh in mind and recorded media (paper)

That is what I did and it worked for me. I remember there are around 5 RAM specs to use like DDR_ and MHz and PC3200 blah blah...cant remember them all

I think the thread for my added RAM was from back in January 2013 when i bought it..

It is common for users to just buy RAM without investigating the specs for it and stiick it in without fear. not that that is a bad thing, but it is common to get malfunctions nonetheless.
