I've tried to use the Scheduled Tasks in Windows XP to schedule a Shutdown of my PC at certain times using the shutdown.exe but it doesn't work. Any ideas how you can do this or if it is at all possible?

Thanks.

Cheers for the info.

I went back and followed the instructions and it worked fine. I'd done everything previously apart from add the parameter "-s -t 00" at the end.

Once again thanks.

Acklan, I think that will only work for Windows 98 and ME. With 2k and XP, you have to use the shutdown.exe command.

Not a problem.

Now I know how to automate it in 98/ME.

You think this would make a good mini-tutorial? Would you write it?
