Platform:  Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

The following situation appears to be new.
My laptop has 3 accounts - 2 with admin privileges & 1 general user account. I notice that when I logon to any of the accounts, the following message appears for less than 1 second:
"Please wait for the user profile service..."

Then this message appears for about 1 second or less:
    "Preparing your desktop"

Then the account logs in normally. That is, the account appears to be normal (the correct icons, desktop, etc.) when the login process is completed. In any case, I ran SFC & chkdsk - no problems found.

Why do these messages appear? Is this normal?

Thank you.
