Hello,

I am in dire need of expert advise regarding my son's laptop!  He just came to me and said he was playing MineCraft with his brother on their own private LAN server.  He opened "CheatEngine6.1"(a program) and "SpeedHack" which apparently these both are game cheats...I know - I have talked blue in the face about NOT using any of these but what do Mom's know!

As soon as he opened the above he noticed his webcam camera light flashed on, then a ChatBox (which he thought was Skype) opened and he didn't realize the hacker could see/hear them.  My son said, "It must be a foreign hacker" and then freaked when the hacker replied that he was British!

My son immediately went to Control Panel and Uninstalled Cheat Engine but an error message box came up saying something about..."You tried to delete it!   EXPLETIVE"

The webcam came on again and my sons' covered the webcam, said Nothing and powered the laptop down.

Sorry this is so wordy but I am very worried on many levels!  Is our entire network compromised? I've changed my major (credit card #) account passwords but I really don't know what to do?  Is this for the local police etc.

Thank you so much for your time and I'll anxiously await your reply,

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.
